Russ Anber, well-known Canadian trainer of amateurs and professionals, makes his debut as a co-host with Boxing Channel Radio. Anber has seen them all come and go north of the border, having spent the last 25 years working with fighters, most notably guiding middleweight Otis Grant to a WBO world championship. He also has his own weekly show, “In This Corner with Russ Anber,” which airs on The Sports Network (TSN), Canada’s sports leader (tsn.ca).

On today’s debut installment, Russ talks about how he got involved with boxing, working with master technician Vinnie Curto, and offers his own reflections on the career of Arturo Gatti, whom he’s known since the age of seven.

A nice surprise to see RA join the team at TSS. For boxing fans north of the border, Anber is a fixture on the boxing scene, and his opinions are both valued and sought after. Good move guys, and welcome aboard Coach!!

    Dear TSS,
Just listened to the first radiocast of ‘Russ Anber’ from your site. This was a great interview and I must tell you, as a person who views tons of boxing on the internet, that ‘TSS’ website has to be, pound for pound, the finest and most so’fist’icated boxing site anywhere. Really superb; thanks to all involved.
    All the best,
    Sincerely,
    Brian Houston

    Great Job Man,

Glad to see a decent boxing show in Canada. Love your insight, you have a very objective way at looking at fights. Do you have any solution to eliminating the 3 judge ruling in boxing. I belive this system abominates the sweet science itself. Too much money on any big fight now a days puts the perspective in my view, of a botched decision by some nobody judge. Please in any next upcoming show could you tackle this subject.

    Thanks

P.S if you do tackle this subject could you e mail me so i do not miss the show.
