Let it all hang out

Hey TSS readers:

It looks like heavyweight Oleg Maskaev is going to get a crack at Hasim Rahman in the summer.

Does the Kazak deserve a crack at Rahman’s WBC belt?

Or do you think there are more deserving contenders or prospects who have earned a shot at Rahman more than Maskaev has?

Weigh in at the TSS Forum and let your opinions fly!

I say Maskaev does deserve a shot, because he beat Rahman before and the dude came back from the vocational dead zone in a biiiiiig way.

Hey, it’s not like there are dozens of deserving fighters out there who have been bypassed, so I say eff it, give the Kazakhi Komeback Kid a go!

  2. Nelson Feliciano Says:

Maskaev has won his last ten fights. He won the mandatory eliminator. If that alone doesn’t make him deserving of a title shot, then I don’t know what is.

  3. Ed Ziemelis Says:

Maskaev has enough in the tank&heart to beat Rahman. To make a title
sweep of all Eastern European heavywight champs!

Maskaev knocked out known Rahman sparring partner Veteran David Vedder. He also already cleaned Rahman’s clock and is going to do it again. I went to school with Vedder here in San Jose, California. David’s “no joke” in the ring and does not get knocked out easily. Maskaev is one of the few cats who have handed Vedder his hat. After Maskaev peels Rahman’s cap for the second time. Maskaev and Wladimir Klitschko is the best fight match up of the Eastern Euro fighters. The next American Heavyweight prospect to bring the titles back to America is Calvin Brock. Calvin is the only other cat I know that has handed David Vedder his hat. Brock also has the power in both fists to get the attention of the tough hard hitting Eastern Euro fighters. Brock’s trainers and promoters should bring Brock along carefully and continue to work his skills tactfully. Good fights for Brock in preparation would be Brewster,Peters,Danny Williams,John Ruiz, Luan Krasniqi ,Sultan Ibragimov, Ruslan Chagaev,Ray Austin or James “lights out” Toney. After he runs through (if he runs through) any of these guys. Then it will be no doubt he’s ready to bring back all the belts to America. Though Rahman has a punchers chance he still sleeps with the ghosts of getting his cap peeled by Maskaev in their last fight. If Rahman doesn’t go in there and get Maskaev out within 3 rounds it’s curtains for Rahman. I call the fight Maskaev KO over Rahman in 5 rounds if that!! Congrat’s Eastern Euro fighters!! You’ve done what has not been done since the early 20th century by American white fighters!! Though with Calvin Brock hovering in the back ground. The celebration may be short lived!! Brock is ranked in WBA,WBC,WBO & IBF for good reason!!
