Wayne McCullough Is Pissed Off

By Michael Woods May 24th, 2006

Pocket Rocket fit to be tied

Wayne McCullough thought he was facing Israel Vasquez, the WBC super-bantamweight titlist, on June 10. But the Pocket Rocket’s plans have been dashed, apparently, and a legal wrangle over who should be facing the champion in Atlantic City has arisen.

Sycuan Promotions wants Vasquez to meet fellow Mexican Ivan Hernandez on the undercard of Antonio Tarver’s light-heavyweight clash with the former world middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins. A written agreement for the Belfast-born Pocket Rocket (27-6) to be the one getting the crack on June 10 supposedly exists.

Dan Goossen, his promoter, said the matter was “in the hands of the attorneys.”

He’s an idiot. Soooo, why does he deserve a title shot?? Didn’t he get his a$$ beat in his last fight against Larios? He’s done and should forget about fighting and calling out fighters. It’s apparent the years of taking shots to the head have taken it’s toll. Go back to writing books.

  3. BMCT Says:

Steve, you need to get over the fact that Toney is a HEAVYWEIGHT who could never get down to Cruiserweight no matter how hard he tries. So i don’t think he’s fighting O’Neil Bell anytime in this lifetime.
