Saturday night, boxing fans have the option of seeing Roy Jones fight Prince Badi Ajamu on PPV, or tuning in to “free” TV to watch HBO’s Boxing After Dark broadcast featuring Vivian Harris/Stevie Johnston.
A few years ago, it wouldn’t have been a debate – most everyone would have opted for the RJJ option.
But the march of time, and the prospect of paying $25 bucks to see a potentially embarrassing swansong for the past-his-prime legend, make Saturday’s choice that much tougher.
So what about it, TSS Blogsquad?
You going for the freebie BAD action, or will you break down and watch the Jones/Badi Ajamu battle from Boise?

if it were free… RJJ, but ill crack a cold one, and watch the BAD action. Roy should hav signed for the Hopkins fight, then took a walk.

are these shows really on opposite each other? and who are the announcers in idaho? tim ryan lives there; he was always a good one. but as far as the boxing goes, there’s no question that BAD is better than almost any kenny keene fight, even with roy jones jr. as the walkout bout.
Yeah that Fran Charles from BAD might be the worst boxing commentator of all time but I am still going to watch the free TV. Stevie Johnston vs Vivan Harris is going to be a good fight. Don’t sleep on the Clottey – Guttierez fight either. Sorry Prince Badi, maybe you can fight Tarver on the next PPV if you win.
Roy Jones is old and faded, why would you want to watch a guy who “survived” 12 rounds in his last fight with Tarver. Is he going to survive 12 rounds with Prince Badi Ajamu? Someone else can pay $30 to find that out. Fran Charles is horrible the guy has no personality for boxing in his commentary, he sounds dull and bland.
Hmmn let me think…. Pay to see Roy AGAIN!!!! for a bs fight or watch BAD for free that hasn’t let me down yet. does 1+1= 3 guess it’s BAD for me. Roy its been real… Peace out
Is this really a debate? NO Brainer! Roy Jones is done, he was once great but his time came and went. I would rather opt to see a little more action and someone who is willing to fight in the Harris/Johnston bout. As for the BAD crew, Max use to be real when he was on ESPN but now he leans toward the direction that HBO tells him. Lennox is something else, he always has some amusing commenst and makes for a good laugh. Sometimes I wonder how much he has had to drink before the show because he often looks a little lost.
The funny thing, which my wife was really laughing about, was when Lennox couldn’t remember the name of this one fighter. As he was either punch drunk or liquor drunk.

They waited till Badi got to his end of the road, to give him a fight that was long over due,now they want us to watch and pay for, an over the hill Chicken-man, jump around the coup(boxing ring)for 12 rounds, I don’t think so. Sorry Prince but I hope you win!!!
