Zab Judah’s year from hell just got that much worse.
The former welterweight champion Zab Judah was arrested Sunday on a Family Court warrant after a celebrity basketball game in New York.
Judah, age 28, was held overnight at a police station after his arrest at Madison Square Garden and then made an appearance in Queens Family Court on Monday, UPI and the New York Post reported.
Police would not give details about the warrant, saying only that it involved a “financial dispute,” the UPI report said, but the Post said the bust came about from an accusation from one of Judah’s exes.
Bruce Silverglade of Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn defended the boxer, who melted down during his April loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and was then dumped by promoter Don King.
“I’ve known Zab his whole life,” Silverglade told the Post. “He’s trained here since he was 7 years old. He’s a really good guy. He doesn’t get into trouble — he likes women, and he’s had some kids, but that doesn’t make you a bad person.”
Judah (34-4) was fined $250,000 after the Mayweather debacle, in which he engaged in a wild melee with the Mayweather camp after starting the tiff with blatant rulesbreaking tactics.

ZAB Judah is finish as a Boxer, He signed with a No Name Promotion Company, He si finishes he hasnt been training at Gleasons Gym, He hangs out with Thugs, Just retire Brotha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rob, I think you’re being a little hard on the guy. Steven Stein, your comments smack of racism. Zab Judah has alot left in the tank, losing to Mayweather and Baldomir doesn’t make you a shot fighter! We knew PBF was great, now Baldomir is showing himself to be pretty good as well. If Gatti can get his hat handed to him a FEW times and we, as fans still wanted to see him in the ring, I THINK we can hold off on the WASHED-UP talk for Zab! Heck, he’s ONLY 28 and hasn’t been beaten up like, say, Fernando Vargas. As for you, Steven boxing in America has been RUN by thugs since it began, they just wear suits! YOU DON’T KNOW THESE PEOPLE AND SHOULDN’T MAKE JUDGMENTS ON THEM. Also, I doubt very seriously you’d say that to Zab, or any one of these so-called thugs to their face! That makes you something less than a thug…………….It’s called a COWARD!!

Who cares about Judah outside the ring. He behaves like a bum inside the ring. No sportsmanship or decency. He deliberately fouled Floyd, acted classless against Baldomir and everyone knows what he did after getting smashed by Tszyu.
There are probably several fighters who could fight much better than Judah, but are completely unknown, …case in point Baldomir…..what sort of a champion are you if any previously unknown guy can whip you.
Gatti is different, does not talk shit and behave like a sore loser in the ring and makes no excuses. Judah whines like a babe.
Judah can come back, but I wish he’d grow up and act like a man to go with all the athletic ability he has.

I agree with Brian. I always try hard to like Zab even after that Tszyu debacle cause I always thought he has talent He makes it very hard to root for him becuase of his tactics before, during and after fights. The shit talking doesn’t bother me nearly as much as his behavior, particular when he is losing and/or loses. Imagine blaming Don King for his poor performance against Baldomir (and I don’t like King), while before the Baldomir fight he was handing out T-shirts that said “Floyd, your next.” (Are we focused Zab?)… However, with that being said, I sure as heck don’t think he is washed up and should retire. He is still quite competitive in a tough division and in Boxing you never know. As DIGGY said above, he is not nearly as washed up and paunchy as Fernando Vargas and I still feel he can be a player in the division should he remain completely focused as he was against Cory Spinks the second time around….Peace to all….

Come on people, we all know Zab Judah can be one of the top fighters if he would just stay focused. He’s running around in lil’kim video’s and I see him in NY clubs partying. He just seems to not care, I wish he would step up and show his talent… With all that said i’m still behind him and hopefully he can try to do this the right way one more time.

Zab is one of the most overrated fighters in the past fifteen years.
Every time he has to step up and make a statement he trips over his own stupidity.
I’ve no interest in watching him again.

1st is first. Do you even know how much zab’s child support is? He may be taking care of his daughter but 10k a month is mamma hoochie money. Zab is the best welter weight out there. If he stays focused, he will beat PBF. Did you see the first 4 rounds. Baldomir got lucky against Zab, and gatti could not and will never beat any decent welter weight.
