Buffalo’s Baby Joe Mesi shuffles off to Grand Rapids

The re-licensing flurry continues for Joe “Frequent Flyer Miles” Mesi, as it looks like the Buffalo-area heavyweight will glove up in Michigan on a Sept.15 card.

Mesi (32-0, 26 knockouts) will take on opponent TBA in a four-round bout at the Little River Casino, near Grand Rapids, the Niagara Gazette says.

It’s Mesi’s fourth fight this year since that his two-year suspension from boxing was lifted; he scored a win over Ron Bellamy in Puerto Rico, Stephane Tessier in Montreal and Dennis “Mad Dogâ€? Matthews in Arkansas.

    Or Evander Holyfield.

  3. Robert Says:

Little River Casino? Is that named after the Little River Band? Didn’t they sing “Take It Easy on Me”? Way to go, Joe!

  4. Brad Says:

Gotta be careful of the dreaded TBA

  5. Robert Says:

especially with the fight in three weeks … don’t want to tilt the odds away from Joe too much by giving the opponent time to put down the Cheese Doodles

  6. christian Says:

maybe he can get the Jeremy “The Beast” Bates to fight.
