Giovanni Parisi Back In Action

Major League Boxing in Milan

On October 8, another major card will take place in the great city of Milan. In the main event, former WBO world lightweight and super lightweight champion Giovanni Parisi (41 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw) will fight European welterweight king Frederic Klose (38-5).

The Euro crown is the only major title missing in Parisi’s career and he wants it so badly that a great performance is guaranteed.

European flyweight champion Andrea Sarritzu (25-3-3) will defend his title for the first time against Christophe Rodrigues (13-13-2). Even if Rodrigues’ record is mediocre, he already proved to be a difficult opponent for Sarritzu, forcing him to a draw back in 2004.

Sarritzu has improved a lot since then, as he showed in his Rocky Balboa-esque performance last July 27 in Milan when he scored a TKO 12 over tough Spaniard Ivan Pozo (who had easily beaten Sarritzu in 2005). That win at the Velodromo Vigorelli turned Sarritzu into an idol in his native Sardinia, and into a star in the rest of Italy.

(As a matter of fact, Sarritzu’s match was the only bout rebroadcast by the national network Italia 1 a few weeks later.)

Four other professional bouts will take place at historic Palalido, the name of the fighters will be announced shortly. The card will be promoted by Salvatore Cherchi in association with Parisi Flash Promotion.
