IBF world champion Arthur Abraham left the Protestant Jungstilling hospital in Siegen Saturday morning. “I’ve recovered from the operation and I feel good,� the champion said. “Having the belt on me is the most important thing of course. I fought hard to defend it.�
King Arthur struck a blow against speculations about a possible end of his career because of the double fractured jaw. “In a few weeks I will take up the fitness training again,� the 26-year-old Abraham. “In about two months boxing training will follow. The jaw has been set by two titanium sheets. The healing process goes on. It doesn´t cause any problems.�
King Arthur also reacted to statements of his challenger Edison Miranda, who has returned to his adoptive country Puerto Rico. The Colombian showed respect to Abraham for having given a good account, but he considers himself to be the true winner of the fight and denies having boxed dirty.
“What a laugh,â€? said Abraham.â€? He has obviously lost on points. Usually the referee had had to disqualify him. Miranda has been cautioned because of three low punches – everybody at the gym, every television viewer could see it. Some of the other hits below the belt have not been punished by the referee. It was an intentional and cruel butt – it was obviously to be seen at the television. Moreover there´s no denying that Miranda has been punching after the round was over. Maybe he should watch the fight again before talking such an idiotic bullsh–. I still think that Miranda is an unfair sports man.â€?
On Thursday morning the champion flies to Chicago via Amsterdam to give an ARD TV commentary (“Boxen im Erstenâ€?) on next week’s heavyweight title fight between Nikolai Valuev vs. Monte Barrett.

Just watched some footage of the abraham miranda fight. For all boxing fans that have bought into the bull about miranda getting robbed. I saw the low blows and head butt while watching edison get taken to school. Miranda was just frustrated with abrahams superior skill and heart. The man is the real deal and now my favourite middleweight fighter.The man is a warrior, and he is very capable defeating wright and taylor.

Just saw the fight Abraham v. Miranda and I gotta say I became an instant fan of King Artur. The man is a real MAN!

To anyone that says Miranda was robbed I saw stop crying and take the defeat as a lose. First of all just look at both fighters pro careers, Edison Miranda has fought mostly NOBODIES all his career except for Eastman which is old man Arthur’s left overs a has been. Edison started pro career 2000 Arthur 2003 from looking at Arthur’s record you can see the difference that his beat better boxers in a short amount of time and achieved a lot in a short amount of time, to name a few of the boxers former wbo middleweight title holder Hector Javier Velazco got ko’d by AA in the 5th then Eastman then ko’d kingsley Ikeke, beat kofi jantuah which is a dangers and strong puncher like Edison all this from 04/2005 - 05 - 2006 just little over a year. I saw the fight live then I watched the fight after that again. If someone didn’t understand anything about boxing watched the video would think Edison won the fight because all you see him to is attack punch punch and not land clean most where landed on AA’s gloves not to many clear shots watching the fight you cant even tell when exactly he broke his jaw which was a accident Arthur said in a interview he had is mouth open when Miranda landed the punch and broke it. Arthur was landing at will anytime he would attack he landed and was effective a lot of times . After Edison beat Eastman, people kept talking about Eastman rocking Miranda once in the fight AA did it a lot of times in this fight. There was a lot of low blows some the ref let go Miranda did what he did mostly out of frustration if anyone doesn’t see any low blows from EM is blind. Arthur was the better boxer smarter fighter that night and still is. All you Edison Miranda fans respect AA for what he has done his not the one scoring the fight and his not the ref, the man fought like a lion he has the heart. Edison Miranda shouldn’t talk any cause he was guaranteeing a KO he couldn’t even drop AA with a broken jaw. AA did run around a lot in the final round because he knew he won and he wasn’t going to risk his health anymore his just fought the fight smart
