Contender’s Brewer/Forbes eager to return to action

Contender 2 winner Grady Brewer is itching to get back in the ring and continue his surge of momentum.

According to Jeff Wald, a Contender chief, Brewer (22-11) could either fight on the proposed Roy Jones/Peter Manfredo card in January, or possibly appear on a Tony Holden card in November.

Runner-up Stevie Forbes (32-9), who was heavily favored over a man previously regarded as a journeyman, has signed on for a Boxing After Dark gig.

He’ll fight 24-0-1 Demetrius Hopkins on BAD on Nov. 25, Wald told TSS.

I’m anxious to see Grady get back in the ring. I would love to see him fight and win against someone who is highly regarded. He still has a lot of critics due to all of his losses, and also due to the fight plan he executed against Forbes. Oh well! Grady could fight Forbes 10 times and win every time. He is clearly the smarter and stronger fighter. I want to see him do something to shut the critics up.
