  2. Torsten Stett says:

Joey Spina is a slobbering drunk who has made a living beating up half-dead forty-year-olds in the ring. He’s going to get annihilated on fight night.

manfredo might get past spina but i heard he wants to fight roy jones that will be the end of manfredo

  4. jamie says:

hey jacob roys a bum now his end has come and gone stop holding on to the past,as soon as he fights an elite guy hes gonna get knocked out again and manfredo has a shot

  5. Jobes says:

How many rounds is this bout?

  6. G-Pal says:

Jamie….Manfredo’s not an elite guy. And fortunately for Roy, there’s not an “elite” guy at light heavy right now.

    Two things:

1). Manfredo had waaay too much stick time for Spina. Spina’s boxing style is grossly under-developed. Manfredo is quick – with good head movement and crisper punching ability. All of this was woefully apparent by Peter’s 3 round destruction of Spina. Spina should have never asked for the fight (it will likely shorten his career)— Manfredo had almost nothing to gain by taking it.

2). Roy Jones Jr. ‘was’ one of the greatest / exciting fighters boxing had to offer. His time however has passed. It was an ENORMOUS psychological blow to Jones Jr. to lose (by way of knockout) to both Antonio Tarver (in my book a one punch wonder) and Glenn Johnson (is this guy still active in the boxing scene?). Jones Jr.’s style was largely predicated on a confidence that couldn’t be shaken by his foes. The last handful of fights I have seen Jones Jr. fight, he has been timid and cautious– a style that does not display his ability nor does it allow him to rifle the kind of shots that won most of his fights. Jones Jr. jaw is suspect and I believe Manfredo CAN knock him out if he catches him right.

I’m not sure what the outcome of a Jones Jr. / Manfredo fight will be, but if Jones Jr. takes it lightly and Manfredo continues with Freddie Roach, Roy Jones would do better announcing fights not gloving up for them.

    Just my thoughts.

Manfredo is just as fast as the old RJJ… and it seems to me manfredo can take more of a beating then RJJ can…. with freddie roach in manfredo’s corner now and the improvement that has been shown i just can’t see manfredo losing this fight…All RJJ has going for him is experience… If this fight happens i see RJJ knocked out in the later rounds or a manfredo win by UD..
