By Boxing News October 27th, 2006Second fight card in two weeks at Might M Monticello
Bob Duffy and Tony Mazzarrella’s Ring Promotions presents its second show in two weeks on Friday, November 3, 2006, at the Mighty M casino at Monticello Raceway in Monticello, New York.
The main event is a battle for the New York State welterweight title between Russell Jordan (12-3, 8 KOs) of Rochester vs. Allen Conyers (9-2 (7 KOs) of the Bronx. Conyers, who is trained by Buddy McGirt, scored a sensational first round TKO over highly-touted, once-beaten prospect Jonathan Tubbs in his last bout. Jordan is managed and trained by former junior middleweight title challenger Rocky Fratto of Geneva, New York.
The co-feature pits extremely popular lightweights Justo “Sensational Sencion (24-3, 14 KOs), a native of the Dominican Republic who now resides in the Bronx, against Pascali Adorno (9-5-2, 4 KOs) of Puerto Rico.
Also scheduled to appear is welterweight Freddy Soto of the Bronx, who lost a heartbreaking decision to once-beaten Jose Leonardo Cruz at the Mighty M in his last outing, as well as Wesley Hobbs (4-1-1) of Brooklyn against rugged Mexican southpaw Juan Carlos Sanchez (3-2, 1 KO).
“This is our fifth card at the Mighty M, and every show has been better than the last, said Duffy. “The reasons are simple: We place a great emphasis on quality fighters and refuse to give them easy matches. That’s why the fan support has been so great at all of our shows there.
