Stallone Gives Up Bedroom Frolic For Rocky 6

Rocky 6 arrives in theaters for Christmas and I’m hoping that Sly Stallone’s makeup person gets a hefty Xmas bonus because…brace yourselves… the star of the show is 60 years old.
Yikes…
Reports say that Stallone’s lady, Jennifer Flavin, who has been married to the action star for nine years, burst into tears when he told her that he was getting back in the Rocky saddle.
She said she didn’t want to be around to see man get humiliated or killed.
Stallone told the Daily Record that he can’t blame her for her reaction.
“She was absolutely right. I mean, she was just defending her husband from what actually was a totally crazy idea, but now she likes it.”
He trained about four hours a day to get a body that puts 99% of us Regular Joes to shame.
“I know a lot of actors say they train for 12 hours a day for parts like this, but the truth is I did about three-and-a-half to four because that’s all the body can take,” he said. “Anything more than that and you start to break down and actually end up performing worse. But the other problem now is I can’t run any more so all my training was either in the ring or with weights. Things just wear out. All those years of heavy leg lifting and running up steps now mean when I try to run everything hurts – my knees, hips and even my neck. There’s nothing plastic in there yet, but we are getting close to it.”
And perhaps there’s another reason the missus weeped when told that Sly was doing the Rocky thing again. The actor says that he abstains from coital frolic during training.
“There is only so much energy in the body and I know some athletes in the film didn’t adhere to the ban, but I did because I knew it was the only way. I hear David Beckham says he doesn’t, but maybe he’s the exception. The people I know who fight all stick to a sex ban because, if they don’t, they lose. I mean, look at nature. Think about the wild bull and those guys in the pasture having fun. Who do you think would win in a fight between them? The wild bull of course. Of course it is hard to do, but that’s why you fight so well.”

Someone tell Sly it’s a movie and if the script called for him to win, he’s gonna win. No need to deprive the Mrs.

I wonder if Paulie is going to finally get his snow cone machine Rocky Promised him if he beat Apollo Creed back in Rocky 2.

I remember Rocky 2 at the cinema, as a kid I followed it all over London, must have paid to see it 20 times or more. In those days we never had video’s or dvd’s and it would be years before the movie was shown on television. I was only 12 years old at the time but even so it was Slys effort that made it all so real and its great to see that even at 60 years old he is just as dedicated. I am looking forward to a trip down memory lane with Rocky Balboa.
