Steward On What’s Next For Both Klitschkos

Emanuel Steward didn’t have any inside scoop on whether or not Vitali Klitschko is gearing up for a comeback.
Manny told me that he talked to Wladimir Klitschko on the phone on Monday, and the two will start camp next week in Mallorca, Spain. Klitschko is disappointed that sanctioning body politics have him fighting 24-3-4 Ray Austin, who’s notched two draws (against Larry Donald and Sultan Ibragimov in his last four outings), and so is Steward, the trainer/manager/analyst said. The WBC reps explained to Klitschko that they aren’t interested in litigation scenarios, so they are hesitant to go against their regulations regarding mandatory matches, Steward told TSS.
On the Vitali front, Steward said he’s heard rumors of big brother coming back into the mix, but a leg injury stemming from his kickboxing days still factors into Vitali’s wellness.
Little brother, Steward said, really wanted to start the unification process against Oleg Maskaev. Since that’s not on the front burner, Steward said, Klitschko will try to look impressive, and then hope the fans demand that some of the most obvious matches get made.

Maybe there is something to all this Vitali’s coming back talk? But Vitali was clearly the more robotic or planted of the two Klitschko brothers; so coming back with further truncated mobility does not strike me as a good idea. Unless Vitali can fight Oleg Maskaev? Then he should come back right away, knee injury or no knee injury.

Well if wladimir got his shot at a unfication title then vitali would have not been planning a comeback because vitali would only get a shot at the wbc title as he is ojnly no 1 mandatory for wbc title
