Cotto On Weight Target
By Boxing News May 10th, 2007Miguel Cotto weighed 154 1/2 at his mandatory WBA 30-day safety weigh-in on Wednesday. The maximum weight for Cotto today was 168 pounds. The weigh-in was in Salinas, Puerto Rico.
“I’ve been working real hard for weeks,” Cotto said. “I know how tough (Zab) Judah is and I’m going to be prepared perfectly.”
Cotto vs. Judah for the WBA Welterweight championship is scheduled June 9 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Cotto vs Judah ‘X-Plosive’ is promoted by Top Rank in association with Prize Fight Boxing and will be available on HBO Pay Per View.

Cotto has awesome power but I don’t think he’ll be fast enough to keep up with Judah. The only way Cotto will get through this is if Judah fails to train as he did with he Boldomir fight. Put your money on Zab.

Do you think Cotto elevates himself to superstar in this fight? Or, if/when he beats Zab, that feat is diminished because Judah is seen as damaged goods?

I think that cotto will win on a KNOCK OUT in the fifth round,people know the troubles that judah is been having lately but that won’t make a difference on a result of this good fight. I think is about time they start matching cotto with some of the best to see if he is the best.
