Pacquiao/Barrera II Is On!

By Boxing News June 29th, 2007

Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank have reached a
settlement of the various legal disputes including that pertaining to Manny Pacquiao.

Bouts between Manny Pacquiao and marquee fighters under contract to Golden
Boy will be co-promoted by Golden Boy and Top Rank. Fights between Manny
Pacquiao against fighters other than Golden Boy fighters will be promoted
by Top Rank with Golden Boy retaining a promotional interest.

The first fight which will be presented under this arrangement will be
Manny Pacquiao vs. Marco Antonio Barrera on October 6, 2007 at Mandalay
Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy, and Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank, both
agreed that the settlement will be great for boxing as Top Rank fighters
will be taking on Golden Boy fighters in the months and years ahead.

Pac Man beat MAB in November 2003, TKO11.

That’s good news, at last we will finally see a marquee fighter fighting Pacman, I pretty much agree with what all the guys are saying in this site, GB and TopRank are going to really benefit from this settlement. So after MAB, it will be JMM,Guzman,Valero and Soto in any order, Pacman will take all of them one at a time. I couldnt wait to see both of them trade blows with each other, Good luck to both guys.

Bernard Hopkins is returning to the ring to fight Winky Wright for the light middleweight championship. Evander Holyfield beat Lou Savarese and set himself up for another shot at the heavyweight title.
Bernard Hopkins and Ronald Wright are both exceptional fighters and I will be happy with either one of them as champ, though I’m rooting for Hopkins.
I’m definitely rooting for Holyfield to become heavyweight champ. Like George Foreman, he’s out to prove age is just a number.
But both B-Hop and Holyfield used to be light heavies, and this is what I want you guys’ opinion on.
If they were somehow in the same weight class, who would win in a match between these two veteran warriors? I cant decide.

  9. Stevie Salisbury Says:
