Poll: Could Forrest Hang With Floyd?

By Uncategorized July 29th, 2007

I know, PBF’s doing Hatton first.

But I’m curious, off what Steward said on Saturday…

Think Forrest, today, and in his prime, could hang with Mayweather?

He’d be competitive, but he’d lose by decision

hey listen floyd is not really even a welterweight, guys like cintron margarito , paul williams, even mosely are huge compare to PBF , he has a very slim slight build and if he made weight and fought at his most effective weight class he would be a 140lb fighter. He has outgrown lightweight , but could easily make 140 . thats why i think it is better that he fight hatton then he won’t have to fun and stink out hte joint so much because he can bang with someone his own size and then it comes down to who is fighter not who has more pysical advantages.
Floyd went up in weight for more money , but he ducked the best welterweights because eventually a good big man beats a good small man , and his management knows it. so discussing floyd fighting guys like vernon forrest, paul williams and winky wright is just empty space , the only bigger fighter floyd want to fight is ODLH

by the way if forrest vs PBF was ever made , i cannot imagine an uglier more boring fight matchup ,

He looked great Vs Baldomir. He has the all the tools to beat PBF. Height, reach strength ,skill, will and power. He’s has the intelligence and poise to not get frustrated with Mayweathers speed and slick deffensive moves. The skill, strength and power to crack and possibly break Floyd deffence with hard Jabs vicious hooks to body and wicked upper cuts on the inside like what he did to Mosley. Plus he has pretty good foot work and hand speed himself to deal with Mayweathers constant moving around. And the will, chin and conditioning to keep going no matter what. Of all the fighters in (147lbs) or around (140, 154lbs) the welterweight division. If he’s truly 100% he would be PBF most dangerous opponent ever . Hang with Floyd? He can beat him in great fight, he has the best shot of anybody. But they don’t call him the Pretty Boy, and the Pound 4 Pound King for nothing.

NO WAY……should never HAPPEN…………why even think about this fight going down - FORREST vs ALCINE NEXT!!!!

I hope the matchmakers will spare us a PBF-Forest fight. Can you imagine spending your hard-earned money on this snoozer? It would suck, and it wouldn’t do a darned thing for PBF’s career. We’re living in a period where great fights are getting made: Taylor vs. Pavlik is an example. Lets not waste our time with an inferior match.

Come on guys, stop clownin’. The name of the game is winning. Floyd has beatin all the best fighters in each division he has been in. I would take PBF against anybody out there under 147. Realistically, he cant fight at 154 for an extended period of time. So I dont even put Forest in the conversation! Nevertheless I am disappointed with PBF not fighting either Paul Williams, Sugar Shane or Cotto! Why fight a 140 pounder when you have the best fighters right there in your division. PBF did say he want to fight the best fighters out there, right??? I believe Sugar would give PBF all he could handle. That is the fight I would like to see. PBF wont fight Paul Williams because he throws way too many punches and can punch similar to Thomas Hearns! Cotto is too slow and would look like Baldamir did against PBF.

mayweather is afraid of his own shadow
