Can the old man do it?
Again, at age 45?
Can the Real Deal spit in the face of Father Time, and Sultan Ibragimov, the Russian lefty with the WBO heavyweight title? Can he win a fifth heavyweight title?
Or is he out of his league against an opponent that may not be a world beater, but is a step up from the journeymen he’s feasted on in his comeback?
I think he will get knocked out or his corner will throw in the towel. NO
I honestly believe Holyfield WILL pull it off. People think he doesn’t have a chance because he’s a 45-year-old against a reigning champion. But take away Ibragimov’s “WBO champion” tag and his name alone carries zero luster. Ibragimov is not a linear champion; he is nothing. Holyfield’s table is set.
I think he can. I’m surprised that he is even getting a shot at a title. He’s been saying for years that he would become champ again. He is setting up all the doubters for a big “I TOLD YOU SO” moment!
Kind of like Ali vs. Spinks II, Holyfield will atleast be a more creditable fighter than Shannon Briggs.
Holyfield will win via LATE STOPPAGE, hes fighting a bum HW title holder in Ibragimov – slow, pathetic footwork, and at least Holyfield has looked impressive beating Happy Meal fighters but come on – Ibragimov beat Briggs, who at any moment have 12 diseases in his body, and had a draw with Ray Austin the guy who got beat with one hand, beat Javier Mora in one of the worst PPV cards in history. Does any one of the two deserve a “title shot” F**K NO!!!!
I for one have very mixed feeling, Holyfield’s last few fights have shown an impressive fighter for his age, Ibragimov on the other hand is very very powerful, I’m glad for Evnaders chance at a title – I’m just praying he doesn’t get hurt. My palms are already sweating and I can’t wait for Oct 13th.
Everytime you count Evander out, he proves u wrong. Guess what, it’ll happen again. Evander in 5!
