Cotto/Mosley A Go

By Michael Woods August 10th, 2007

Sugar Shane Mosley will meet Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico on Nov. 10 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Mosley (44-4, 37 knockouts) has won five straight but is 35, and will come in the underdog against a stronger, younger Cotto.

The 26-year-old Cotto (30-0, 25 KOs) won the WBA welter title in 2006 with a technical knockout of Carlos Quintana, and defended the title against Zab Judah (TKO11 win) at Madison Square Garden on June 9th.

Can SSM turn back the clock and use hand speed and movement to upset the surging Puerto Rican banger?

Whoever wins this fight should automatically get a shot at Mayweather. I believe Shane is the closer thing to Mayweather right now Cotto is going to have alot of problems with Sugar Shane he’s no Zab Judah the garden is going to be crazy that night can I get my ticket now!! Can’t watch this fight on television

I think both fighters would put a whupping on Floyd. I’m not saying they’ll beat him for sure, but they’ll hurt him.

I see Shane beating Cotto with the overhand right, and good movement in the ring, using his jab. Somebody’s gonna get knocked out whoever your pulling for.

Mosley exposes Cotto’s chin and pounds out the his shot at Mayweather!

Cotto UD 12 over Mosley…should be a great fight and lead Cotto to fight PBF, which will be another great fight.

Cotto is going into deep water this fight. If Shane Mosley brings his A game then Cotto’s bitten off more than he can chew. I don’t know what they were thinking about making this matchup.Mosley in 9!!

  7. Puncher Says:

Mosley is good and moves like Judah……so Cotto has seen that style already. If Cotto starts getting in those body punches it will be a Cotto win for sure. If he can get in it will Mosely all the way.

Please remember that when Mosely fought Vargas, Vargas was getting to him until that nasty bump on his head ended the fight….and Vargas does not hit like Cotto.
