Glen Johnson Calls Out EVERYONE

By Boxing News August 15th, 2007

With two spectacular wins in 2007 over Montell Griffin and Fred Moore, former World Light Heavyweight Champion Glen Johnson has proven that, like a fine wine, he is only getting better with time.

And if his performances in the ring didn’t speak loud enough, the refusal of any of the big names at 175 pounds to fight him shouts to the world that just as in the time leading up to his breakout year in 2004, Johnson is the most feared man in boxing.

“I guess I should wear this as a badge of honor, but truthfully, it disgusts me that fighters who call themselves World Champions won’t give me a shot, said Johnson (46-11-2, 31 KOs). “I’ve earned my way here, I always put on exciting fights, and I give the fans their monies’ worth. Shouldn’t that be worth anything?

Apparently not according to WBC titlist Chad Dawson, IBF belt holder Clinton Woods, and old rivals Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins, who won’t even mention a fight with Johnson.

“They all have amnesia when it comes to my name, and it’s a disgrace, said Johnson. “Each one of them could have accepted a fight with me but either refused or ignored me. They give their titles a bad name.

So what is Johnson to do?

What he always does – fight. And eventually, someone, somewhere will have to fight him.

It’s the way of ‘The Road Warrior’.

I have NEVER seen Johnson in a stinker of a fight. This guy brings it every time, I wish more of the P4P fighters had the attitude he does. I’d like to see him fight (and whup, and retire)Tarver for a 3rd time, just so we don’t have to listen to him bitch about “no respect” and “I’m the man that beat the man” anymore. If Bad Chad wants to prove he’s bad, Glen is the only guy to call.
Road Warrior rules, “Who run Bartertown, bitch?!”

Glen Johnson is a fighter’s “figther”. Will fight anyone including yo’ mama! What’s up w/these other light heavyweights? What’s up Tarver? Make a trilogy with a real fighter! Bad Chad…you have to start beating some big names…Johnson is a good suiter. Woods…what’s up with a rematch? RJJ don’t want to get knocked out again…Hopkins, if you don’t get Calzaghe next, fight Johnson! He adds to the legacy if you beat him…these “champions” of the light heavys need to give Johnson some work!

Johnson needs a title shot now - heard Showtime doesnt want to accept the Shark Diancu as Dawson’s opponent for Sept 29 show - why not the Road Warrior? He is a threat to dethrone/punish any of the big names in the LHW division. What a beating he has dished out to his last two opponents, Griffin and Moore Pure class and a fan’s treat - Glen Johnson is as mentioned above - A fighter’s “fighter”

Chad Dawson easily beats Glen Johnson on points. Tarver is more Johnson’s speed right now.
