Diaconu Injured, Out
By Boxing News September 18th, 2007Adrian Diaconu of Canada hurt his wrist and has removed himself from a planned fight with light heavyweight titleholder Chad Dawson, ESPN’s Dan Rafael reports.
The bout was scheduled for Sept. 29 at Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif., and was to run on Showtime.
Showtime hopes a replacement foe will be found and the show will go on.
Dawson is 24-0, 16 KOs and is regarded as one of the handful of top young American fighters in the game today.
Diaconu is 24-0, 15 KOs.
