Jackson Bussell, 28, of Reno, Nev., collapsed Thursday night in the ring shortly after his six-round match with Javier Garcia at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas, CA.

Bussell was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center in grave condition, said Officer Jason Lee, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, in a story that ran on thedailbreeze.com.

“This afternoon around 3 p.m., he lost the fight for his life and died in the hospital,” Lee said to that publication.

Bussell’s fight ended in a draw.

His final ring record: 1-1-2.

TSS sends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the fighter, and best wishes to his foe.
