Ruiz Wants To Fight Peter

By Uncategorized September 23rd, 2007

Two-time world heavyweight champion John
“The Quietman” Ruiz (41-7-1, 28 KOs) has offered to replace injured Oleg
Maskaev on October 6 against Samuel Peter (28-1, 22 KOs).

“I’m calling out Peter,” Ruiz said, “or any of the other top heavyweights in
the world. If Peter wants to step-up and prove himself against a 2–time
world champion who has been in 11 world championship fights (including one
interim and one eliminator), I’m more than willing, able and ready for him.”

Ruiz during his 15-year pro career has beaten three world heavyweight
champions — Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman and Tony Tucker – as well as
top contenders Andrew Golota, Fres Oquendo and Kirk Johnson.

Can anyone remember the last time Ruiz won a fight?

Give it up John….I know you want to hold onto the thoughts that you have had and still do have some talent. Apparently you’re holding onto to those thoughts with the same death grip you put on your opponents when they are about to hit you. “Let it and any other fighter that you may fight go!” You are the most annoying and least talented heavyweight out there. Do yourself and all of us a favor and go the way of your former obnoxious manager Norman Stone and freakin’ retire PLEASE!!!!

    Please NO!!!!!!

I cant imagine who the WBC will approve for an interim title bout with Peter and only 2 weeks left…..they are talking about Golata who isnt even ranked by the WBC…….Oliver McCall would be a nice sub but heard Peter’s team dont want to pay shit for the fight….

Rahman is rated #4 by the WBC, McCall is #3, I have no clue who da f**k Vladimir Virchis is — #2 by the WBC, and Juan Carlos Gomez @ #5…

below that, you got Valuev, Tua, Brock, and other no name pretenders……..awful sad state the HW division is in right now

  5. Guy Says:

Ruiz needs to live up to his nickname and shut the hell up. He’s lost his last couple of big fights against Valuev and Chagaev. He doesn’t deserve a title shot until he fights someone.

Maybe he should rematch with Tua so he can be gone in 19 seconds and he won’t have to hear from him anymore.

Bottom line…..Rudy is right. The heavyweights are sad right now.
