Boxing Disappearing In Papers
By Michael Woods February 10th, 2008Word is that Roy Hewitt, sports editor of Cleveland’s Plain Deale has decided not to send a reporter to Las Vegas this week to cover middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, Youngstown resident and Ohio’s favorite son, in his eagerly anticipated rematch against former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor.
Kelly did the coin toss at a Cleveland Browns game, he throw out the first pitch for a Cleveland Indians playoff game, and he sst on the sidelines as a guest of the Ohio State football team for their biggest game of the year…but he doesn’t warrant one reporter from Cleveland’s daily newspaper which is 70 miles from Youngstown.
Maybe some Pavlik fans want to make their displeasure heard. Have at it:

newspapers are on the way out, look at the L A times GOING DOWN THE TUBES FAST. BOXING IS ALL ABOUT HI TEC TV AND INTERNET, WHILE NEWSPAPERS ARE ON THE DOWNSIDE BOXING IS GROWING WORLD WIDE BABY ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB!!!
