Shamrock Cut, Out Of Slice Fight

By Michael Woods October 4th, 2008

Ken Shamrock cut his left eye during an afternoon warmup, and needed six stitches, so he had to pull out of his Saturday evening fight with Kimbo Slice. Slice will fight; his foe will be Seth Petruzelli.

Shamrock maintained that he wanted to fight, but the Florida commission would not allow it.

“I hope that they will put this together again, because he deserves a beating and I want to be the one to give it to him,” he said.

The cut came when Shamrock was rolling during a warmup, and his training partner butted him with his head. That area had been cut before, and was tender, so minimal contact caused the cut.

Ken’s adopted brother Frank Shamrock laced into Frank for going hard before a fight, and putting his fight in jeopardy.

Petruzelli is a UFC vet, and the door is wide open for him to make a sick splash. He is a more difficult test for Slice than Shamrock, and no doubt Team Slice is chewing on their fingernails going in to the main event on CBS.

well Kimbo got OWNED by Seth but I like Ken face Kimbo though. Seth faked the kick and caught the inexperience Kimbo right on the button. Kimbo tried to shoot when Seth tried to fake the kick. Too bad for Kimbo, Seth is a season vet so he took full advantage of the dazed kimbo. You cant tell, Ken might have done the same to Kimbo.
