Mayweather v. Marquez – Number One v. Numero Uno
By Uncategorized August 10th, 2009
Floyd Mayweather wins by unanimous decison: 118-109, 120-107, 119-108.
Round 12: Floyd fires the left hook. It’s almost always one punch at a time or this fight would have been over long ago. JMM lands a looping left hook but there is nothing on his punches. Left hook, right hand by Floyd lands. JMM is one tough, determined fighter but has been completely outsized and outboxed by Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd 10-9.
Round 11: Floyd is blocking, slipping or catching everything JMM throws - it is masterful. Floyd lands a crisp right hand inside. Floyd backs JMM to the ropes and rips him with a right. A short left hook lands flush to JMM’s face. Another. JMM is being punished. JMM can’t land and can’t elude - a losing combination. Floyd 10-9.
Round 10: It’s a physical mismatch. Floyd ripped JMM with a right. When JMM fires a right it lands on the shoulder or is caught in Floyd’s gloves. Jab by Floyd. Jab to the body. Jab to the head. Left hook followed by a right hand buckles JMM. Floyd’s defense is superb. JMM fires a four punch combination that was entirely blocked or deflected. Floyd is pitching a shut out. Floyd 10-9.
Round 9: The two are trading jabs in the center of the ring. Floyd’s jab is snappy. JMM’s just isn’t. Floyd lands a short left hook. Jab by Floyd. Jab by Floyd. Right hand by Floyd. Another. Jab by Floyd. JMM lands a hook on the hip. Big right by Floyd. JMM took it well and fired back. Jab by Floyd. Floyd 10-9.
Round 8: Floyd flicks the jab in JMM’s face. JMM flicks his own but hits air and shoulder. Floyd shoots a right hand that JMM counters with a glancing blow. Jab by Floyd. Jab by Floyd. Counter right by JMM . JMM lands a right hand - left hook combination. Floyd fires a right that misses but is too elusive to be countered by JMM. Short right hand by Floyd lands. Floyd is talking to JMM. Floyd 10-9.
Round 7: JMM landed a good left hook of his own mid way through the round. Mayweather is pot-shotting JMM with jabs. Floyd is ripping JMM with straight rights. JMM throws a scoring combination while Floyd has his back against the ropes. The crowd chants, si se puede (yes we can), but it’s not enough to lift their man. Floyd 10-9.
Sorry fight fans - lost connectivity during the 5th.
Round 6: Punishing round by Floyd. Floyd is pummeling JMM with straight rights and left hooks. Floyd 10-9.
Round 5: It was JMM’s best round, but it wasn’t enough. Three left hooks to end the round turned the tide and made it a Floyd round. Floyd 10-9.
Round 4: Thus far Floyd is too fast and too big for JMM. JMM fires a combination that Floyd picked off with his gloves and front shoulder. JMM throws a triple jab followed by a right hand and missed with all four punches. The pace favors Floyd who is picking his shots and fighting when he chooses. JMM just landed a right hand flush to the face but Floyd didn’t move. Floyd isn’t landing much, but is winning this round with defense and a jab. Floyd 10-9.
Round 3: Back at center ring Floyd flicks the jab. JMM fires but misses. Floyd isn’t there when JMM fires. Floyd just isn’t there, or blocks whatever comes his way. JMM lands a chopping right. Floyd lands another left hook. The left hook is a difference maker for Floyd. Floyd looks confident - as though he isn’t concerned by anything JMM can hit him with. JMM lands a right. Floyd smiles but isn’t hurt. Floyd 10-9.
Round 2: Floyd lands a jab then jumps in with a left hook. JMM is looking for an opening that isn’t there. Floyd is too fast thus far - making JMM swing and miss. JMM lands an overhand right. Floyd fires a left hook and dropped JMM. JMM is up but looks dazed. Floyd feints but doesn’t fire. Straight right by Floyd grazes JMM. Floyd fires a counter right flush on the face. Floyd 10-8.
Round 1: Jab by Floyd. They are cautious at center ring to start the fight. Both men are feinting. Both are flicking the jab - mostly missing. Floyd lands a left hook. JMM pumps a double jab that misses. Floyd jabs to the body. Floyd lands a left hook to the body. The two are fighting a center ring. JMM lands his first punch of the fight. JMM misses again. The fight is fought at a slow, measured pace. Floyd 10-9.

Undercard results:
Despite being rocked in the 12th round, Chris John defended his WBA Featherweight title against tough-luck challenger Rocky Jaurez. John, of Indonesia, stuck and moved his way to victory in a fight that lacked drama until the final round. John remains undefeated with a 43-0-2 record while the loss drops Juarez’ record to 28-5-1. The final scorecards favored John 114-113, 119-109 & 117-111.
Aussie Michael Katsidis won the WBO interim lightweight title by defeating Vicente Escobedo over 12 hard fought rounds. Katsidis (26-2) pushed Escobedo around the ring with both punches and his shoulders. Escobedo (21-2) countered with an inconsistent jab and a crisp right hand but was unable to back off Katsidis. Katisidis won by split decision: 112-116, 115-113 118-110.
Featherweight Cornelius Lock landed a short right hook that deposited Orlando Cruz on the canvas. Cruz (16-1-1) rose by the count of eight but was unable to continue according to referee Robert Byrd. Lock (19-4-1) won by KO at 2:08 of the 5th to capture the vacant NABO Featherweight title.

Here are five reasons to bet the house on Mayweather…
1. Speed. Mayweather has the fastest hands in the game today. Carlos Baldomir was everyone’s darling coming into his 2006 welterweight fight against Mayweather. He was big and dominant and seemingly indestructible. Baldomir had just pounded-out the late Arturo Gatti and months earlier willed his way past the speedy Zab Judah. It wasn’t close. Mayweather’s movement and hand speed turned Baldomir into an aging, heavy-footed club fighter.
2. Boxing IQ. If you’re going to get to Mayweather you had better do it early. Once Mayweather adjusts to what his opponent is doing the fight is over. In their 2006 welterweight bout Zab Judah won some early rounds but couldn’t keep pace with Mayweather as the rounds progressed. Mayweather countered the aggression out of Judah with pinpoint shots Judah didn’t see let alone stop. Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton also started strong before going down in defeat.
3. Defense. When was the last time you saw Mayweather nicked up following a fight? The man rarely gets hit flush. In his 2007 super fight against Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather spent the majority of the evening with his back pressed against the ropes. A much bigger man, De La Hoya threw everything he had at Mayweather and didn’t leave a mark. Mayweather tucked his chin, leaned back and rolled with the punches.
4. Pop. George Foreman or Julian Jackson he isn’t, but Mayweather can crack. The late Diego Corrales wasn’t considered “chinny” when he entered the ring against Mayweather for their 2001 super featherweight title fight. But Corrales went down three times in the 7th and twice more in the 10th before the fight was stopped. Like Corrales, Ricky Hatton was an undefeated fighter when he challenged Mayweather in 2007. A Mayweather hook in the 10th ended Hatton’s night and his perfect record.
5. Marquez. Yes, Juan Manuel Marquez is a consensus top ten fighter and three-division champion but he has become increasingly easy to hit in recent outings. At times Joel Casamayor was too fast for Marquez during their 2008 lightweight clash. Marquez struggled to time Casamayor who landed lefts with regularity before being caught and stopped by Marquez in the 10th. Similarly, Juan Diaz lathered Marquez with hooks to the body when the two met in 2009. And similarly, Marquez weathered the storm and went on to stop the young bull late in the fight.
And five reasons not to…
1. Marquez. Marquez has a warrior heart and surgeon hands. An expert counter puncher with power in both hands, Marquez may be the best Mexican fighter of his generation. With no shot at a third fight against Pacquiao, Marquez called out Mayweather following his victory over Diaz. Perhaps he saw something during the Mayweather-Hatton fight? Perhaps trainer Nacho Beristain saw something while preparing De La Hoya to fight Mayweather in 2007? Whatever the reason, Marquez is convinced he will beat Mayweather when they meet in the ring.
2. Ring rust. When Mayweather finally steps between the ropes on September 19th, nearly two full years will have elapsed since he last saw action. Maybe he needed time to heal? Maybe he wanted to pursue other interests? Without question he celebrated two birthdays while out of the ring. I’m certain Mayweather stayed in shape during his self-imposed hiatus; he is a superb athlete. But staying in shape and staying sharp are two different things. And in today’s economy tune-up fights are a thing of the past.
3. Distractions. Uncle Roger. Father Floyd. Money Mayweather. Enough said.
4. Brittle hands. Mayweather can beat many fighters with one hand. Marquez is not one of them. With a history of hand troubles all it takes is one ill placed punch to render Mayweather a handicapped fighter. Add a fight postponing rib injury to the mix and Mayweather suddenly seems vulnerable. So much so that Mayweather felt compelled to respond on twitter to reports that Marquez is planning a body attack. “Marquez says hes goin after my ribs but theres no weakness in MONEY MAY.”
5. Home cooking. Mayweather may live in Las Vegas but on fight night Marquez will own the town. On Mexican Independence Day weekend, the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be packed to the rafters with flag waving, energy producing Mexicans and Mexican-Americans pulling for Juan Manuel Marquez. They will out number and drown-out Mayweather backers as long as their man is in the fight. If Marquez scores a knockdown the place will erupt. Mayweather will feel their presence and, more importantly, so too will Marquez.

Number One, Numero Uno, Pospone Again, or Cancel.
Take a pick.
August 11th, 2009 at 8:50 am
PBF fought a bloated slower Hatton, Split Decision an aging Dela Hoya, Baldomir has more losses then pac , Hatton & Dela Hoya combined with 9 losses. He hasnt fought the best in welterweight division. Choices a fighter 2 divisions lower then him. Hmmmm fastest hands I doubt it Nonito Donair , Kahn & Pac are faster then PBF. He is just a great counterpuncher and thats IT!!!!
August 11th, 2009 at 8:54 am
I got 5 reason why Marquez might win!!
1. Marquez is more smarter
2. PBF is washed up diminished skills
3. PBF has weak ribs
4. PBF stamina is questionable vs Dela Hoya
5. Rusty 2 yr layoff

no matter how good these boring jackasses are, they still can’t sell tickets. There was a time in boxing where you look forward to when the best fighters are going to fight again, these two idiots are not one of them
August 11th, 2009 at 9:24 am
no comments yet…. nobody’s interested on the fight…
August 11th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Marquez is a damage goods!!!
Broke Nose, Cut 2 times and Knock Down 4 times by Pac in their 2 fights!
Plus get beat by Juan Diaz…. Lucky he land that 1 perfert punch~
Honestly, I don’t even think Floyd can knock JMM down!!! Not even once!
August 11th, 2009 at 9:37 am
THIS FIGHT IS BORING AND A WASTE!… i’d rather start shopping for the Manny-Miguel fight tickets instead.
August 11th, 2009 at 9:51 am
What is the message?will they really fight or try to fight each other.
if to follow the logic Mayweather will defend himself in a perfect manner. Then marquez is a surgeon in counter punching too,to visualize it just in the mind who will be the offensive fighter between the two come fight night,or it will just happen naturally?.Just asking question.
August 11th, 2009 at 10:03 am
watch castillo’s fight with mayweather, he was outboxed . . . but won unanimousLY! I bet, even if mayweather got black and blue in the hands of MARQUEZ, he will win in the scorecards as a unanymous winner . . . .
August 11th, 2009 at 10:13 am
floyd the biggest fraud in boxings
big skills no heart
all of them wwelter champs called him , a lightweight called him to
and he heeded the call
damn..
August 11th, 2009 at 10:25 am
Mayweather jr.’s face will be covered by his swollen lips.
August 11th, 2009 at 10:30 am
You forgot to say that Mayweather has been fighting bums or over the hill fighters like Gatti, Baldomir, De la Hoya, Hatton and always avoiding the real challenge like Cotto, Margarito, Williams, etc. Marquez has never ducked anybody and always looking for the biggest challenge or the toughest fight out there so all this cuties you talk about Moneyless May look even bigger against degraded opposition, but when you face a full steamed real fighter out there like Marquez is not so easy too look dominant and do all this thing you say Mayweather so. I would like to see him doing his cute little rolling against Paul Williams perhaps or Cotto. Marquez throws punches in bunches and if you recall he can as well adapt to the opponents and change his pattern of fight according to the situation so Mayweather is not the only one that can do that so i’m not so sure that once Mayweather figures Marquez out the fight is over because Marquez will adapt as well and try different, counter punch and throw combinations, we’ll see if Mayweather rusty defense is enough to avoid getting hit all 12 rounds. All i know is that we ahll see a very good fight and i wouldn’t bet all my money on Mayweather.
August 11th, 2009 at 10:50 am
Get your facts straight. Nacho trained Oscar for Manny and only Manny. Freddie ‘The Joke Coach’ Roach trained Oscar for Floyd.
August 11th, 2009 at 10:55 am
Also..
“They will out number and drown-out Mayweather backers as long as their man is in the fight.”
My goodness, that is completely irrelevant. I can’t believe you typed that with a straight face. When is the last time Mayweather fought a big fight before a sympathetic crowd? Hatton turned the MGM Grand Garden Arena into Little Manchester, Arturo Gatti owned Boardwalk Hall, etc. Has no bearing on the outcome.
August 11th, 2009 at 10:58 am
This is a waste of virtual space … to the author…. please stop what ever you are taking that damages your brain.
August 11th, 2009 at 11:03 am
good posr unbiased !!!! furthermore MAYWEATHER VS MARQUEZ SEPT 19 MUST SEE TV MAYWEATHER IS THE KING
August 11th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Hatton and Corrales were both glass jawed foes. It’s prolly going to be a snoozer but I’ll bet the house on this one. Floyd will be too big and fast for Marquez to time. Floyd by UD or late round stoppage.
August 11th, 2009 at 11:30 am
I don’t know if we were watching the same fights. While Casamayor did get to Marquez early on it became apparent as the rounds wore on that Casamayor was not going to put out Marquez like he did Chico and Katsidis. As a matter of fact, one got the inexorable feeling that it was a matter of time before JMM got to Casamayor and that he did with the spectacular KO! With Juan Diaz, it’s true that Diaz did get to Marquez early and even caused Marquez’ legs to wobble once or twice with his best shots but again one got the feeling as the fight progressed and Marquez started connecting that it was a matter of time before Marquez put out the lights and again he delivered. If Floyd has even the whisper of an injury coming into this fight, he should just pull out because Marquez will take him apart like he has done with everybody else except his nemesis , Manny P.
August 12th, 2009 at 3:58 am
both Mayweather and Marquez’ style of fight is waiting and counterpunching.
Their fight is only a little exciting if the opposition will trigger the offensive like Pacquiao, Casamayor and Juan Diaz against Marquez. Also like Castillo, Judah and dela Hoya against Mayweather. But these two will be fighting defensively against each other? what a BORING FIGHT. How can we view an exciting ring battle when the fight missed an appetizer.. OFFENSE. Anyhow, no way Marquez can pull a clear knockout. His best is just a SPLIT DECISION or a DRAW. Same is true with Mayweather. He can not knock Marquez down even once. He can not duplicate what the Pacquiao did to Marquez knocking him thrice in one round and a total of 4 knock downs in 24 rounds. But I guess Mayweather will receive a GIFT WIN… again this time.

August 16th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
I’m surprised that JMM is not getting the accolades and respect he deserves,. JMM is not credited with his amazing comeback performance against the master-boxer Casamayor,…dispite the mainstream view that he was a diminished fighter,.. still had a lot left against Katsidis and JMM,… Diaz threw everything at him but the kitchen sink,. JMM sapped Diaz’s will while growing stronger and stronger as the fight progressed,… JMM threw 4-5 punches combinations at Diaz in every combo usually ending with the uppercut that landed at a high percentage,.. it was an excellent strategy and JMM has the infinite stamina to throw like that all night,.. if the Mayweather camps sleeps on than fact then JMM will outpoing Mayweather easily,.. the under card is stellar,.. as it is stacked,.. this is a premiere event and I will consider myself fortunate to be able to witness,.. we are going to stage a major event,.. a fight party like we used to do in the old days,.. (remember Holyfield vs Tyson,.. best fight party ever) JMM could take this,.. I look forward to an excellent show…

August 22nd, 2009 at 3:53 am
Team work will see mayweather through, the advantage is that the team is dam smart and since its more a biz than sports, Mayweather remains my favourite. The dude is fast and smart
August 24th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
This is my first (silly) comment / question:
How would a 67 year old, 250 pound person in good health, never boxed, fair against one to these foes just mentioned. He can can still bench press 265 pounds, run 100 meters, and his brain still functions. hahaha.
My personal answer is that the old fellow will lose cause he never fought before.
August 25th, 2009 at 1:04 am
My only fear with this fight lies in Marquez’ age (and perhaps his [lack of] reach as well) OK that extra weight is on my mind too… Nonetheless, after Marquez wins this one, I just hope they schedule PAC vs JMM III fast enough to make it fair. I hope they get Cotto and Mayweather together too! These are the best series of potential fights in a long time…don’t forget to throw in the Williams and Mosley possibilities in the mix.
Marquez is a great boxer. All the talk of him being underrated will eventually secure that he is properly rated in retrospect and after the fact…. He beat Pacman both fights, period…and if he didn’t…he sure didn’t lose. I will say that a third fight will likely show Pacman even better than he has been (scary) and Marquez slightly diminished due to too many miles. Too bad. Those first two fights though…Pacman was schooled in the first fight (after the knockdowns) and he was very lucky to get a cheap headbutt in toward the end of the second fight (watch him smiling after he sees what his headbutt did to Marquez’ eye) HE WAS BEAT…
and he knew it!!!!
Floyd against Castillo exposed PBF is very beatable - everyone had Castillo ahead by an unbeatable margin…except for the paid-off judges…116 to 111 for PBF??? Are you f’n kidding me??? Youtube it this instant - pathetic….if PBF was honest with himself, he would never bill himself as undefeated - even HE was shocked that he “won” that fight!!
If I was PBF, I would be very afraid…his running won’t work against Marquez all night…PBF slips and dips maybe twice and then moves but Marquez throws 4 punch combos with incredible accuracy…Castilllo was catching PBF…and therefore, Marquez will too. I was a De la Hoya fan at one point…but those DLH “flurries” against PBF were nothing compared to what Marquez will do… (Like I say, that pesky lack of reach is an issue, though.)
Anyway, a warrior will expose a runner whom really doesn’t like to engage. I have to bet on Marquez…out of loyalty alone.
August 27th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
if mayweather thinks he has the fastest hands in the game today then he will be in for an allmighty shock if he comes up against the pacman next year!
August 28th, 2009 at 8:00 pm
1. Marquez is a very smart fighter but he is too small.
2. Marquez didn’t fight Barerra until Marco was washed up.
3. Marquez will not be able to handle the weight or speed.
4. Though Marquez is the smaller man and used to speedy fighters he is not used to speedy fighters with good side to side movement. Not many fighters are.
Simply, Marquez is going to be KTFOd……
August 29th, 2009 at 11:05 am
Mayweather is a little timid fighting Manny Paquiao. If by all means he kept saying he could beat Manny, he better prepare his ass, and his(garbage) mouth soon.
A GOOD FIGHTER MUST RESPECT HIS CO-FIGHTER NO MATTER WHAT.
A BOXER THAT HAS A LOUD MOUTH, IS NOTHING BUT AN EMPTY CAN.
About frustrated Juan Manuel Marquez, you’re nothing but a loud cannon that cannot hit it’s target. Are’nt you ASHAMED telling the whole world you BEAT Manny in all your fights?
HOW MANY TIMES DID MANNY KNOCK YOU DOWN? 1 KNOCK DOWN YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOUR CORNER IS, AND YOUR SO DAZE LIKE A FISH THAT WAS STRUCK IN THE HEAD. (HAHAHAHAHA)
In any sports, 1 point is enough to beat an opponent. You know for a fact in your 1st fight, an error occured by 1 Judge and on that aspect you were lucky because Manny is clearly the winner.
BOTH this FRUSTRATED BOXERS ARE AFTER MANNYS TAIL. They thought they could easily beat Manny, and doing so by BAD MOUTHING MANNY, INSTEAD OF PHRAISING, AND BE CIVILIZE AS SUCH.
I APPRECIATE DIAZ, WHO HAS NOTHING TO SAY BUT FULL RESPECT AND APPRECIATION TO MANNY PACQUIAO. HE IS A REAL DECENT, GENTLEMAN, CIVILIZE, RESPECTFUL BOXER.
TO BOTH MARQUEZ AND MAYWEATHER, DON’T YOU KNOW WHY MANNY IS LOVE BY ALL HIS FANS IT’S BECAUSE OF HIS DECENCY, RELIGIOUS, HUMBLENESS, AND HIS CHARISMA. THE RESPECT TO ALL WALKS OF LIFE IS HIS SECRET WEAPON.
ONE BIT OF ADVISE TO THE 2 OF YOU. (MARQUEZ AND MAYWEATHER)YOU SHOULD NOT UNDER ESTIMATE ANY INDIVIDUAL COZ GOD IS ALWAYS ON THE SIDE OF THE HUMBLE.
SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT, YOU ARE BOTH GOING TO BE LOVE IF YOU HUMBLE YOURSELVES.
BOTH OF YOU ARE GOOD…BUT MANNY PAQUIAO IS THE BEST AMONG YOU! MANNY PROVED IT IN SO MANY WAYS!

this bout is like mma w/out kicking and ground fighting..boring. but i still hope marquez will win
September 2nd, 2009 at 8:38 am
Boxing is war ground where fighters from all walks of life and different characters meet to prove what they are capable of. It is about skills, elegance and determination and not trash talking or humbleness.
The most loved boxer Muhammad Ali was the greatest trash talker the world has ever seen and always used to vividly ridicule his opponents in a way that was so disgusting yet he was and still is loved by almost everybody.
What on earth? has Mayweather jr done to make you hate him if it is not hypocrisy and envy for his achievements as a black man?
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:12 am
Both Fighters are great fighters, both fighters deserve respect. I believe Floyd Has skills like no other, he is Ranked number 2 pound for pound without even stepping back in to the ring, That says a lot in its self, this fight is a exciting fight most likely the fighter who wins will fight Manny and thats enough in its self. A chance for boxing to get the respect in prize fighting back. PBF Win by KO, He trains harder than most fighter, and he has got something to prove. Floyd Is more dominate when pressure is put on him and the pressure is on him to prove he still has it. You will see a Floyd that is hungry again, He want to fight the best, He wants to prove his the face of boxing, He want the number one spot back and he now he has to defeat both manny, and Marquez. Every generation Has a great fighter, but FLoyd just might be the best of all time.

September 12th, 2009 at 11:32 am
The reason boxing fans HATE PBF, is because aside from his BIG MOUTH, he has a fighting style that really sucks!
When he fights lame, non-dangerous, slow and low class fighters, he really looks halfway decent against them. He doesn’t tie-up as much, nor does he use his bicycle as much either.
But just notice, EVERYTIME he fights a premier, world-class fighter, how he CONSTANTLY holds and ties up the other fighter. He gets off his punch or two, and IMMEDIATELY ties down the other fighter. And this goes on ALL NIGHT LONG!
If the other fighter is going to unleash- Floyd ties him down or looks to do so every time. That is his A defense! Another thing is that he spends half the night on his bicycle as well- that makes up the other half of his defense against top quality opponents.
The only time he fought against a serious top quality opponent- Jose luis Castillo, and didn’t use these BORING and lame tactics, he lost. But got lucky he was handed an undeserved gift. But after that fight, he’s always used these unpopular and cheap tactics against every world-class fighter.
PBF, makes for the most BORING of fights due to his tactics, out of fights that look really good on paper. These CONSTANTLY holding and tying-up tactics should NOT be allowed in boxing. If PBF wants to wrestle and run, he should go into another sport.
Floyd has beaten the top contenders not from his boxing skills or boxing abilities, but from these cheap tactics. And as long as the referees allow them to go on- PBF will revert to them all night long. It is only very late in the fight, when he gets some light verbal warnings, but by then it’s too late.
I can assure you, that if the referee would warn him of such HOLDING tactics in the very first round, and started taking points away in the second round, PBF would stop using these tactics and all that would be left, would just be a loud-mouthed, half-way decent fast boxer.
PBF isn’t hated by so many due to his loud-mouth, but rather because of these hated, unjust, unfair and OVERLY USED ring tactics.
As long as he’s allowed to get away with them, he will continue to win fights. But that is the main reason he will never go down as one of the GREATEST boxers of all time in the hearts of true boxing aficionados despite of what the media record shows.
September 16th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
Mayweather will ko Marquez, to strong,to fast, to smart, to rich.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
Everyone is talking about JMM vs Floyed. I want to see Floyed fight Pacman!!! Floyed is scared to take a fight like that. He wants to fight JMM who has lost to Manny. Wy not fight the man who beat the man!!! Step up Floyed or shut up!
September 18th, 2009 at 9:41 am
its time for mayweather to step down.Marquez is now going to be on top

Win or loose Mayweather will never win his ultimate prize, recognition as one of the no #1 champions in the world today. I’m not talking about rankings. I’m talking about being a true champion in and out of the ring. I’m talking about being a stand-up human being and getting all the respect and love as a result. As long as he mouths off like a street punk, he will never get the ultimate prize. Love. As for my prediction…the fight with Marquez could go either way.
As for my hopes…I hope either Marquez or Pacman defeats him. I believe he really needs it and it may help him because after all….he’s defeating himself.

I think floyd will tko marquez because of his accurate puches and his speed. I also feel mechanily marquez is not ready for this fight. Floyd is to big to strong and to fasst to lose against marquez. Also marquez iz climbing to wieght classes to perform at his best !!!!!!!!!!!!! Floyd all the way either tko or ud..

Both great fighter… Gotta hand it to Mayweather for his speed and power punch accuracy and defense. As well as the great shows he’s put on… Thats why he has the right to brag and talk like he does. We would do the same in his shoes… But Marquez is hungry and always has been and wont change… Some question if he will have his power at a higher weight class but he says he feels stronger than befor and he hasnt let his people or his country down with the performances he’s put on so dont expect him to let us down this time… This will be a great performance.
