Special Edition of Friday Night Fights to Kick off ESPN’s Week-Long Salute to Veteran’s Day

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, a special edition of Friday Night Fights will be aired from Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, N.C. The program, set for ESPN2 at 8 p.m., will usher in ESPN’s weeklong “America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans,” a weeklong initiative honoring the veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Brian Kenny and Teddy Atlas will call the action for ESPN2 ringside.

The undercard includes exhibition matches featuring members of the United States Marine Corps boxing team. Each Marine bout will determine the No. 1-ranked Marine in his respective weight division.

The night will culminate with three professional matches. The main event, set for 10 rounds, will be a junior lightweight battle between hometown fighter Johnnie Edwards (15-4-1, 8 KOs) of Jacksonville, and Jason Litzau (25-2, 21 KOs) of St. Paul, Minn.
